Decorating Team decorators are needed prior to VBX to help prepare our 3 campuses for our June VBX.  Decorating will begin in the middle of May & will continue until all our campuses are ready. This volunteer time is very flexible, you can work with teams of people or on your own. You can be super creative & be part of the vision setting or you can arrive and take directions from a lead decorator. There are plenty of different roles & we would love to have you join us! We will connect with you prior & have a very flexible schedule! 

Small Group Guides (SGG’s) are needed to help manage 6 or 7 kids at a table. You are supporting the Lead Teacher in the classroom & not in charge of preparing or teaching activities. Your main goal is to ensure your small group is safe & to engage them in the activities led by the teacher, in a loving, encouraging, supportive manner. You will prepare for your day by reading the materials, praying for the children in your group & understanding the daily activities. Daily tasks will be provided in the VBX handout. 

Check in Prior to:  Day Sessions – 9:15am; Evening Sessions – 5:45pm (Day 1 arrive at 9:10 for day session) 

 

Registration Volunteer, Day of VBX – Arrive early & meet with the Registration Lead. You will greet new children, assist with online registration forms, place children in groups & make new labels for children that have lost their diver’s cards. 

Check in by: Day Session – 8:50am; Evening Session – 4:50pm (Day 1 arrive by 8:30am for day session) 

 

Greeter Be a welcoming presence for: children, families & volunteers. Assist families that are unfamiliar with where they should go when they arrive. 

Check In Volunteer Encourage children to check in at the kiosk each day. Hand out treasures each day to the kids as they check in. Help to direct children to pick up their “Diver’s Card” (name card) on Day 1.  The next days they will just go straight to the Sanctuary. 

You may also be assisting children as they are looking for their “Diver’s Card” (name card) on Day 1. 

Room Helper: You will be supporting your lead teacher by greeting small group leaders each day & keeping the classroom fun and engaging. You will prepare for your day by reading through all the crafts, snacks & activities so that you are ready to support the teacher. You will be assigned a room for the week & will be helping to distribute & clean up the snacks & crafts. You will also assist the small group leaders with campers in need at their tables.

Float Volunteer If you are flexible on how you want to help, we will have you come for the day & place you where there are openings. You may be asked to be a small group leader or room helper or assist with individual children.
